Beverly Bildsten

Beverly Bildsten was born on March 24th in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1929 to Edward and Alice Hamlet. Bev was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roger Bildsten in 1993, and brother Edward "Bud" Hamlet in 2013. She is survived by her six loving children: Roger (Anne) Bildsten of Edina, Minnesota, Peter (Nancy) Bildsten of Baraboo, Allison (Bob) Jauch of Baraboo, Kimberly (John) Siebert of Madison, Bruce (Mary) Bildsten of Minneapolis, and Glenn (Mary) Bildsten of Baraboo. "Bevie" was blessed with fourteen loving grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.Beverly's mother died of cancer when Bev was a very young girl and she and her brother Buddy were largely raised by a collection of loving aunts and uncles who affected her life profoundly and positively. A true child of the Depression and World War II, Beverly developed a great love of movies, especially musicals, as well as dance, theater and the great singers like her beloved Judy Garland and Frank Sinatra. Raised in Minneapolis, Beverly and her husband Roger Bildsten moved to Baraboo when "Buzz" purchased the local Ford dealership. She loved Baraboo and the deep friendships she developed as she raised her six children here.Beverly selflessly devoted herself to raising her children, but still found time for the other loves of her life: Movies, music, Baraboo High School athletics, and theater, as a long-time member and actress in the Baraboo Theater Guild and Green Ram Theater. She spent many a summer on the shores of Devils Lake with her family and always treasured the natural beauty of the Baraboo area. But there was always a bit of the city girl left in Beverly, and she loved her excursions to Minneapolis, Chicago and New York to visit family and attend shows and concerts. Bev was a strong proponent of eating dessert first and the "more is more" school of decorating. Her quick wit, undying spirit, and profound generosity will be greatly missed.A joyous celebration of Beverly's life will be held on Tuesday, September 4th at 1:00pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Baraboo. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral. Memorials may be made to the Friends of the Al Ringling Theater, a historic treasure she treasured and home to the theater, cinema, dance and music she so enjoyed, or the First Presbyterian Church of Baraboo. The family would like to thank Dr. Randy Krszjzaniek, Nancy McNamara and the staff of Jefferson Meadows for the loving care they provided to Beverly. The Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
