Regina A. Whittaker

Our mom, Regina A. Whittaker, age 82 of Baraboo, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Meadow View, A Memory Care Residence.Regina was born on Oct. 13, 1935 in Yorkville, New York, the daughter of Stanley and Sophie (Babiec) Kobielski. She married Lee F. Whittaker on Oct. 22, 1955 in Saint Mary's Church, New York Mills, New York.Together Lee, an engineer, and Regina, a homemaker, raised a family while living in New York, Florida and lastly Wisconsin. Both Lee and Regina enjoyed success in showing dogs for 50 plus years. Regina showed German Shepherds, Dobermans, Hans and Dirk, a Shih Tzu, Nightengale and Yorkshire Terriers, Snickerdoodle, Wendy, Maddie and Sophie. Isable, their beloved Pug, never got a chance in the limelight, however in their eyes she was still a champion.Regina would come to life when her granddaughter, Zoe would come to visit twice a week for childcare where Zoe was the "Queen Bee".Regina is survived by her sons Glen K. Whittaker of Arlington Heights, IL and Christian F. (Deborah) Whittaker of Easthampton, MA. Her daughter, Lynn A. (Peter) Arndt and granddaughter, Zoe Arndt. She is also survived by her sister, Dolores "Dee" Cieri of Peoria, AZ and nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Lee and her parents.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Father Jay Poster officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.The family would like to extend a world of thanks to the staff at Meadow View, who not only cared for Regina, but also were her friends. A special thank you also to Dr. James Mathers for his many years of care for Regina.Memorials may be made to the Sauk County Humane Society.
