Edith M. Kinnamon

Edith Marie Kinnamon, age 79 went to sleep in the Lord on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 after battling heart disease and kidney failure for many years. She was the daughter of James Edwin Robinson and Elma V. Robinson originally of LaValle. She was born in LaValle Oct. 25, 1938. In 1944, the family moved to Armstrong, Missouri where they settled in to continue farming. After she graduated from Glasgow Missouri High School she worked at the State University of Columbia, Missouri. She moved to Wisconsin in 1958. She got a job at the local Wisconsin Bell Telephone Company and worked there until the phone company closed down and they moved everything to Madison. She married Jerry L. Kinnamon on April 23, 1960 at the Advent Christian Church on 4th Street in Baraboo by Pastor Clio Thomas. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and they set a goal of being in all 50 states while healthy enough to travel. The goal was accomplished. Edith was always concerned about kids and their learning of the Bible stories and coming to know Jesus Christ as Lord of their life. She loved her church and was active in it, serving in many positions including teaching 1st and 2nd graders for 20 years. In later years she served on the board of deacons and deaconesses. As health issues took their toll she had to do less and pray more. She always enjoyed a good Bible study and cherished her relationship with God. As with so many Christians, when they have an encounter with the Holy Spirit, it has a very profound effect on your life. Those times are so precious that it is difficult to talk openly about it. She was a good listener, as her special friends always said. Edith was a loving and caring wife, mother and friend to so many. So often thinking of others before herself. She always enjoyed it when the family would gather for those special days; be it Holidays, birthdays or whenever it was possible. She loved cooking in her early years and felt a full table was always a blessing at the holidays. In their marriage they had three children; Keith, Sue and Carol. Her family was so very special to her. She missed not seeing the grandkids often. Most of her working years were spent doing bookkeeping for Kinnamon Saw and Mower, the business her husband had for over 30 years, being forced out by bad health issues. In those business years she did have opportunities to travel because of business awards. It did allow them to see Jamaica, Switzerland, Puerto Rico, Aruba, cruises and other special trips. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Kinnamon of Baraboo; son, Keith (Karen) of DeForest, daughters, Sue (Nathan) Dean of Augusta, Georgia and Carol (Kirk) of Orlando, Florida; seven grandchildren, Kyla, Kelsey, Karl of DeForest; Caleb and Jacob of Augusta, Georgia and Abigail and Matthew of Orlando, Florida; sister, Katherine (Virgil) Fox of Glenns Falls, Idaho; brother, James, Jr. (Karen) Robinson of Charlestown, West Virginia; one brother-in-law, Don Eiken of Carthage, Missouri; as well as many nieces, nephews, and close friends. She will be greatly missed, especially by her church friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jean, Steve, Joseph, Lee and Harry Robinson; her sister, Margaret Eiken; an aunt, Dorothy Ferguson.Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 11 a.m. at New Life Community Advent Christian Church with Reverend Jesse Stevens officiating.
