Beverly Prothero

Beverly Jane "Bev" Prothero, age 87, of Merrimac passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018 with her family by her side. Beverly, the second of thirteen children to Orval and Florence (Evans) Walker, was born March 17, 1931. She was united in marriage to Russell Prothero; he preceded her in death on April 25, 1974. For the last 44 years she was the co-pilot to Eldon McDaniel. In her free time, Bev enjoyed flying, motorcycles, boating, jet skiing, reading, bird watching and bird feeding. For many years, Bev and Eldon loved to be snowbirds in Arizona.Survivors include her loving partner, Eldon; Bev's children, Linda (Craig) Munson of California, Richard (Karen) Prothero of Baraboo, Roxanne (Randall) Boyd of Arizona, Randall Prothero (Bobbie Gurgel) of Reedsburg; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; eight siblings; she is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Russell; and four siblings.A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Redlin Funeral Home with Pastor Roxi Gnatzig officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. There will be a luncheon to follow at the American Legion in Baraboo, 113 2nd Street. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Maplewood and Agrace Hospice for the wonderful care and concern shown to Bev and her family.
