Lorraine M. Erickson

Lorraine M. Erickson, age 93, formerly of North Freedom passed away peacefully with family by her side on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Oak Park Place. Lorraine, daughter of Julius and Mary (Cleppe) Buysse was born March 28, 1925 in Pipestone, Minnesota. On Feb. 10, 1945 she was united in marriage to Helmer Erickson; he preceded her in death in March of 1976. She was employed by Circus World Museum for a few years then was employed by Industrial Coils until her retirement. Lorraine was an active gardener and recently found passion in family genealogy.Survivors include her daughters, Mary (Alejandro) Cruz, Debra (fiance, Jim Kippley) Erickson; daughter-in-law, Lynn Erickson; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; brother, Paul Buysse as well as other relatives and friends.Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Helmer; sons, Gary, Jim and Roger; sister, Margaret; brothers, Earl, Carl and LeRoy.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Jay Poster officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of mass at the church. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in North Freedom. The Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
