Nona Schuebel

Nona Schuebel passed away as gently as she lived at her home in Oak Park Place on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the age of 94 with family by her side. Nona was born on Jan. 18, 1924 in Cadott, Wisconsin to Andrew and Mary Lucas. She married Harold "Hal" Schuebel in August 1946. In 1955 Nona and Harold moved to Baraboo, raised their family and made lifelong friends. In 1974 they moved to St. Paul, MN. When Harold died in 2011, Nona decided to move back to Baraboo to be with family and friends.She was preceded in death by an infant daughter and husband, Hal.She is survived by her children, Mary (Jim) Sanford, Tim (Susan) Schuebel, Victoria (Dave) Sass, Sam (Lynn) Schuebel, Tony Schuebel, Ruth (Roger) Kocinski, Kurt Schuebel; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandsons and beloved nieces.Nona was a gentle soul whose greatest gift was her sense of humor. She always left us laughing.A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Jay Poster officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of mass at the church. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in St. Paul, Minnesota. In lieu of flowers, family would prefer memorials to charities benefitting children. The family wishes to thank residents and staff at Oak Park Place and Agrace Hospice who welcomed her home. The Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
