Gerald "Jerry" Fahney

Gerald William "Jerry" Fahney, age 74 of Baraboo, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison with his family by his side. Gerald was born to Margaret (Geib) and Carl Fahney on April 25, 1943 at St. Joseph Hospital in West Bend. On Nov. 3, 1973 he was united in marriage to Judith Jung at St. John of God in the Town of Farmington. Jerry worked as a truck driver, throughout his working career he was employed by West Bend Elevator, Adams Transit of Friesland, Dan Sonsalla Trucking, and Fil-Mor Express until his retirement. While driving truck he went by the CB Handle of 'Tiny'. He enjoyed horseback riding, camping, fishing in Canada, spending time with his cousins up north and Johnny Cash music. His granddaughters whom called him 'Papa' will lovingly remember him for playing "monster on the floor" and playing at the park.Survivors include his loving wife, Judith; daughter, Margaret "Peggy" (Ryan) Goodenow; son, Nicholas Fahney; granddaughters, Jossalyn Goodenow, and Emma Fahney; brother, Jeff Fahney and brother-in-law, Paul Kraus; he is further survived by other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents; Ruben; sisters, Joyce (Butch) Krueger and Carol Kraus as well as his in-laws, Oscar (Amelia) Jung.A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Jared Holzhuter officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Judy.The family would like to thank Holly, Heather and Meghan for being their heart in helping the family feel at peace while making difficult decisions. Thank you to Carol and Alyssa at St. Mary's for guiding the family through the last hours and explaining everything to ensure they were comforted.
