Ervin J. Roth


Ervin J. Roth, age 80, passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the Senior Life Center in Reedsburg WI following a long illness. He leaves behind 6 children and a beloved companion; daughters, Carrie (Kent) Whipp Lake Delton WI , Lori (Gary) Dickerson Sauk City, Kathy (George) Heath Baraboo, Sandra (Rick) Peterson Hub City, Shelly (Tim) Robinson Cazenovia and his only son Cory of Baraboo and a beloved companion, Lovina Tisler of Wisconsin Dells, 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. His siblings, Mary Breunig, Norbert Roth, Edwin Roth, Werner (Mildred) Roth, Ann Statz, Elmer (Nancy) Roth and Gerald (Scherri) Roth. A special Sister-in-law, Phyllis Roth. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends including his furry feline, Chico. Erv was born and raised on the family farm near Roxbury to Alois and Helena (Seiler) Roth on March 14, 1937. He was the 10th of 13 children. After serving in the US Army, he was employed at Sauk City Salvage, Madison Transmissions, Art Breunig and Sons a.k.a. Lycon Inc in Sauk City WI where he retired in 1989. He was a member of St Joseph's Catholic Church in Baraboo, the Knights of Columbus Council 746 and American Legion Post 26 in Baraboo. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Denise Kuhnwald; grandsons, Robert Nall, Dustin and Travis Krueger; great granddaughter, Lailani Rose and a great grandson, Treton Joseph. The mother of his children, Mary "Ginger" Kirchoffner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers Alois, John, Matthew, Anthony and Florian; brothers-in-law, Victor Breunig and Edmund Statz; sisters-in-laws Antoinette, Donna and Deanna Roth. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Jay Poster officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Redlin Funeral Home as well as on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of mass at the church. Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery where military rites will be conducted.
