Lloyd J. Mlejnek


Lloyd J. Mlejnek, age 81 of Baraboo, formerly of Rock Springs, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 surrounded by his family. Lloyd, son of John and Rose (Subrt) Mlejnek was born Feb. 2, 1937 in Rice Lake. He was a graduate of UW-Madison, receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. On Aug. 20, 1960 he was united in marriage to Beverly Rolli. After working his entire career for Milwaukee County as a Civil Engineer, he retired and worked several years as a consultant. In his free time he enjoyed attending sporting events, traveling with his wife, fishing, playing cards and games. Lloyd lived many years in his country home and loved everything on the land including gardening, hunting, feeding the birds, picking berries, riding on his 1941 Allis Chalmers tractor and tinkering in his pole shed with his treasures'. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Bev; children, Jojean (Steve) Hegedus, Steve Mlejnek, Cheri (Troy) Ambrose; grandchildren, Leah, Eden and Bella Ambrose; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John L. Mlejnek. A celebration of life gathering will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 1:00 to 4:30pm in the Gollmar room at the Baraboo Arts Center, located at 323 Water St, Baraboo, WI. Memory sharing begins at 1:30. Live music, refreshments and food to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Aldo Leopold Foundation or The International Crane Foundation. The Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
