Martin H. Zellmer of Baraboo

Martin Henry Zellmer, age 90 of Baraboo passed away peacefully at St. Clare Hospital on December 10, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born October 2, 1927 in Reedsburg to Julius and Della (Voights) Zellmer. On July 30, 1949 he was married to Colleen M. (Purdy). Martin worked as a construction worker for over 40 years and was currently retired member with the International Labors Union of North America and Local 464 in Wisconsin. After retirement he worked for Baraboo Police Department as a crossing guard for many years and sold sweet corn from his truck on the corner of Connie Road and Lynn Street in West Baraboo. Martin's greatest joy in life was his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family. Survivors include his wife Colleen, four children Mary (Steven) Conn of Baraboo, Garry of Baraboo, Dennis and Dale Zellmer of Baraboo. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Leroy and daughter Marion Kay. Per Martin's request no Funeral Service will be held. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Redlin Funeral Home. A private family burial will follow at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
