Gilbert R. Barton of Baraboo

Gilbert R. Barton, age 83 of Baraboo passed away November 10, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born March 1, 1934 to Clive and Florence (Truan) Barton. He is survived by the love of his life Charlotte (Kaney) Barton of 47 years. Gilbert was in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1956 and served as a photographer. Gilbert was everyone's favorite and you never left the house without laughing or without a big smile on your face. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and by all who knew him. Survivors include his loving wife; daughter, Brenda Legnar; grandson, Scott Becker; granddaughter Katlyn Legnar; baby sister, Loretta McDonald; 2 stepdaughters, 1 stepson, many other step grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters, Mary Ida Barton, Grace McGinnis, Betsy Weitzel; 1 brother, Ben Barton; nieces, nephews and 1 stepdaughter. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Redlin Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Lopp officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
