Joyce L. Litscher


Joyce L. Litscher died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017 at St. Clare Meadows Care Center at the age of 86. Joyce, daughter of John and Mildred (Johnson) Sinner was born Nov. 11, 1930 in Baraboo. She graduated from Baraboo High School where she was a drum major in the BHS band as well as a clarinet player. On March 5, 1949 she was united in marriage to John H. Litscher at First United Methodist Church in Baraboo; he preceded her in death on April 18, 2016. Joyce was first and foremost a farmer's wife; she was a hard worker that helped with her husband on their dairy farm in many capacities including chores, driving tractor and cooking for the hired hands. She also worked for Fulmer Bus Co. and the Sauk County Fair Grounds helping with anything from mowing to office work and maintenance tasks. Joyce also worked at the South Shore Concession stand at Devil's Lake. When she had free time she enjoyed bowling, playing cards, Yahtzee and playing Kozoo. She is survived by her children, Johnny Litscher of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Jerry (Patricia Cummings) Litscher, Joe (Karen) Litscher, Jim (Eva Wink) all of Baraboo; grandchildren, Jeremy Litscher, Justin (Tara) Litscher, Julie (Sean) Goodman, Jeanette (Paul) Rock, Erin (Pat) Cassidy, Dan (Ashley) Litscher, Jackie, and Jenna Litscher; great-grandchildren, Maddison and Charleston Litscher, Ethan and Mya Goodman, Althea Rock, Kaylee, Ryan and Quinn Cassidy, and Ali, Adi, and Stella Litscher; she is further survived by her brother, Gene (Audrey) Sinner of Baraboo; sisters-in-law, Elaine Pierce, Joan Litscher and Mary Sinner as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, John; sister, Janis Smith; brothers, Virgil and Duane (Florence) Sinner; brothers-in-law, LeRoy "Pete" Litscher, Jim Pierce, Orlin (Evelyn) Trager and Bob (Marge) Litscher; and her sister-in-law, Lorene (Royce) Harrison. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, Sept. 18, 2017 at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Marianne Cotter officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017 from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Redlin Funeral Home and on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. The family would like to extend a special Thanks to Dr. Carlson, and other doctors, nursing staff of the St. Clare Meadows Care Center and the Carson Courts employees and friends as well as special friend, Brittany Spencer for their loving, compassionate care and friendship.
