Reid A. Kiefer, age 55 of Baraboo died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017 at home. Reid, son of Connie (Frances) Kiefer and Robert (Rita) Benson was born Sept. 1, 1961 in Portage, WI. He was a graduate of Portage High School. Reid worked as a contractor for many years but most recently was employed by Menards at the material desk. Reid was an avid hunter and fisherman; he especially enjoyed his hunting with his special hunting buddy, Cody. Anyone that ever was to the house was considered family. He loved his extended family also his many friends from Menards. Reid enjoyed participating with Outdoor Adventures for Disabled Hunters. On May 22, 1994 he was united in marriage to Lona Thornton.He is survived by his loving wife, Lona; parents, Frances Kiefer and Robert (Rita) Benson; children, Whitney Kiefer, Ashley (grandson, Stephan) Kiefer, Deanna (Michael) Foss, Kristi (Ronnel) Deering, Stacey Meichus, Jacob (Molly Rondorf) Feick and Jason Feick; 16 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Robert (Diana) Kiefer, Brian Kiefer, Nicholas Benson, Tanya (Scott) Manley, Sasha Benson and Sara Benson; brother-in-law, Jerry (Mary Ann) Thornton; sister-in-law, Tammy (Tracy) Ebert as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.Reid was preceded in death by his mother, Connie Kiefer; and grandparents, Frank (Vivian) Kiefer and Louie (Doneen) Haller.A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Redlin Funeral Home, 401 Madison Ave. in Baraboo; followed by a celebration of life lunch at Max J. Hill Park, 625 Connie Road, West Baraboo. from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
