Carol L. Blystad, 77, of Baraboo, died on Sunday, August 6, 2017. Carol, daughter of George and Margaret (Duncan) Lestina, was born May 6, 1940 in Wilmette, Illinois. On August 26, 1967, Carol was united in marriage to Charles Blystad in Wilmette, IL. Carol graduated from University of Wisconsin - Madison with a nursing degree. She worked as a nurse at Medical Associates for over 20 years. In her free time she enjoyed knitting and quilting.She is survived by her loving husband, Charles; daughters Laura (Scott) Weiler and Carrie (Michael) Piantoni; and grandchildren Samantha, Zachary, and Abigail. In addition, Carol is survived by siblings Margaret (Victor Melville) Sellers, Alice (Jack) Gilhart, and Duncan (Emma) Lestina; sister-in-law Barbara Clark; brother-in-law Arthur Blystad as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.Carol was preceded in death by her parents.Funeral services for Carol will be conducted at 4:00 pm on Friday, August 18, 2017 at Redlin Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or PBS.
