Sheri Lee Kujak

Sheri Lee Kujak passed on Wednesday, July 26th, 2017 with her family at her side after a short battle with cancer at the age of 59. The bright light that Sheri carried with her dimmed just a bit on that day but will be carried on by her family and many friends.Sheri was born to Fran and Sharon Hawksford on April 9, 1958 in Amery, Wisconsin. She married the love of her life, Paul Kujak, on June 13th, 1981 in Hudson, Wisconsin. Paul and Sheri met at Winona State University where Sheri graduated with a Bachelor's in Nursing. Paul and Sheri moved to Baraboo in June of 1981 where Sheri worked at Medical Associates for many years. She made many friends while working at the clinic and her kind nature was shown to her patients. Prior to retirement in 2016, she was the elementary school nurse for the Baraboo School District for 10 years. Sheri was admired for the special and compassionate care of many children throughout the years. She always talked about and smiled thinking of how special it was working with the amazing people that she came across throughout the years at the district. Sheri enjoyed making beautiful jewelry and many of us were lucky to receive her pieces as gifts. She could be found gardening and could make any yard look beautiful. She loved swimming, reading a good book and kayaking with all of her kayak buddies. She truly enjoyed her get togethers with her dear friends, Shelia, Brenda, Mary, Marsha and Susan, along with many other great friends. She and her family took many family summer trips that are still reflected on today. Sheri was a baseball coach's wife for over 30 years and she loved being a baseball mom and supporting the kids/players in any way she could. She thoroughly enjoyed watching Packer games on Sundays even if it were with her husband and Steve Kowalke. But, foremost important to her was family. She could never spend enough time with her children, Aaron and Sam and was so proud of the young men they have turned out to be. She was even more elated to welcome into our family her daughter-in-law, Angie, and precious granddaughters, Hailey and Harper Lee. She enjoyed finally being able to do girly things such as going to plays, getting pedicures, and shopping with her girls. Sheri was the epitome of a grandmother and loved every minute of it. She cooked amazing holiday meals, could pick out just the perfect present for the occasion, and always made you feel special for the person you were. It didn't matter how long you knew her, she had a gift of always making you feel loved. She was preceded in death by Grandparents Ed and Marion Hawksford and Genevieve and Harlan Huset, Aunt Lynn Huset, and Mother-in-law Donna Kujak. She is survived by her husband and best friend, Paul, her loving sons, Aaron and Sam (Angie), beautiful granddaughters Hailey Philipp and Harper Lee, brothers Tom (Mary) Hawksford and Jim (Alex) Hawksford, sister Lori (Rick) Peper, parents Sharon and Fran Hawksford, Brother-in-law Perry (Renee) Kujak, father-in-law Bud Kujak, many nieces and nephews, cousins, family, and friends.A special thank you to angels, Angie Ebright and Sonia Carter, and to the kind and capable nurses at St. Clare's; the care was immeasurable. Her sister, Lori, and sister-in-law, Mary, were a source of strength to Sheri and family in her last days as well as her Baraboo sisters that were always by her side until the end. Thank you to Pastors, Blake Overlien, Doug Shepard, and Lisa Taylor for their spiritual guidance.
