Duane H "Fritz" Neuman


Duane "Fritz" Neuman, age 81 of Baraboo Wisconsin, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2017. Fritz was born to Esther & Harold Neuman on July 10, 1935. He married Jeanette "Jan" Sorge of Reedsburg in September of 1955. Together they raised two children. His hobbies include fishing, hunting, and going to the cabin up north, and casual drives enjoying the wildlife and scenery. He will certainly be remembered for his woodworking and cabinet making, cedar chests, gun cabinets and bird houses.His career path provided him the opportunity to work at the Baraboo Cab Company, Bushmann Construction, Baraboo Co-op, Eagle Signal, Luther Farms, Sysco Baraboo, and then Toro Distribution where he retired in 2000.Fritz is survived by his wife, Jan and children: Dawn (Mark) Olsen of Baraboo and Jerry (Tina) Neuman of Rock Springs. He had 5 grandchildren: Deana Neuman (Rock Springs) and Tiffany & Daniel Rubio (Spring Green); Mickey Olsen & Heather Copus (Milton); Andrew & Sarah Olsen (Aurora, IL); and Joseph & Amanda Olsen (Neenah, WI). He was blessed with 3 great-grandchildren: Lucy, Danny and Ellie. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters: Arlan (Celeste), Mike (Terri), Donna (Frank Jr.), Carol (Russ), and Mary Buelow along with his sister in laws: June Neuman and Bonnie Sorge. As well as his aunt, uncle and many nephews, nieces and cousins and special friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws: Ed and Eleanor Sorge and his brothers: Roger and Jim and his brother in law: Phil, and his very dear friend, Jerry Hansen.A Christian service will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 11:30 am at St. John Lutheran Church, 299 W Broadway Street, Rock Springs with Pastor David Karow officiating. A visitation for friends and family will be held on Saturday beginning at 10:00 am at the church. The Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to his physicians and nurses at Dean Clinic, SSM Health/St Clare Hospital and the staff of the Dialysis Center of Baraboo.
