Marjorie Ann Litscher


Marjorie Ann Litscher died on Saturday, June 3, 2017, surrounded by her family and loving staff in the Memory Care Unit of Oak Park Place, Baraboo. She was born on September 2, 1927, in Amherst Junction, WI; the second daughter of Carl and Hertha (Rickman) Dineen. In her youth she had the time of her life with her sister Bonnie and cousins swimming every summer day at local Lake Emily. She attended grade school in Amherst Junction, at age 16 graduated from high school in Amherst, then attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In 1943 the Dineen family moved to Baraboo when Carl took a job at Badger Ordnance. Marge then worked at the local Ag office where her co-worker Elaine introduced her brother, Robert Litscher. They were married on September 29, 1951. Over the next 62 years, they nurtured three children, Kristine, Kurt, and Karen, farmed dairy and crops and enjoyed time with extended family. Marge worked at the Baraboo News-Republic and Gavin Bros. Realtors and Auctioneers. She was actively involved at St. John's Lutheran, with the school and her beloved Division D, enjoyed traveling with her best friends Betty Schultz and sister-in-law Joan Litscher to the Middle East and England. She greatly enjoyed 6 grandchildren (Megan, Meredith, John Granite, John Robert, Sarah and Emma). She maintained her sweet spirit as Alzheimer's touched her life and she thrived for 7 years in the compassionate care of the exceptional staff at Oak Park Place.In addition to children and grandchildren, she is survived by sister, Bonita Nachreiner, sister-in-laws Joan Litscher, Joyce Litscher and Elaine Pierce, and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by husband, Robert, son, Kurt, and son-in-law, Daniel.Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 10:30am at St. John's Lutheran Church with Pastor Nick Maglietto officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30am until the time of service. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery. The Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
