Marjorie Mae Getschman


Marjorie Getschman, age 84 passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 28th, 2017 with her loving husband at her side. She was born March 12, 1933 in Endeavor, WI to her parents Vernon McMillen and Illa (Chesky) McMillen.In 1951, after graduation she worked at Western Union Telegraph in Madison and later in a dental office.She met the love of her life at a dance in Madison, and she was united in marriage to Lyle Getschman from Baraboo, WI on February 7, 1953. While living in Baraboo she worked in the office of Flambeau Corp. and later part-time at Fletcher Jewelers.After living in Germany for a couple of years and then Beloit, WI, she and her husband, Lyle purchased a farm east of Baraboo; where they developed Pinehaven Bed and Breakfast, which they operated for over 20 years.Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, mother and father in law Treva and Schuyler Getschman, her brother Verle McMillen and sisters in law, Jeanette and June McMillen, Joyce Petzke, Gladys Getschman, brother in law Kenneth Koenecke, and her sweet granddaughter, Kahla Getschman.She is survived by her husband Lyle, their children Gary (Nancy) Getschman, Reedsburg, Nancy (Robert) Batchelder, Mequon, and David (Pam) Getschman, Baraboo. Four grandchildren, Ryan and Rebekah Batchelder, Milwaukee, and Skyler Getschman, Baraboo and Rachel Getschman, Plover, step grandchildren Brad (Lisa) Raniewicz, Stillwater, MN, Dan (Trista) Raniewicz, Dallas, Texas, Becky (Pete) Flock, Oconomowoc, Jessica Bochek, Milwaukee, brothers in law James Getschman, Baraboo, Earl Petzke, DeForest, Gale (Nancy) Getschman, Baraboo and sister in law LaVonne Koenecke, Reedsburg as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Redlin Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with Nancy Gingras officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery.
