Victor "Vic" J. Wedekind, age 81, of North Freedom, passed away March 30, 2017 at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo. Victor, son of Victor and Helen (Woefel) Wedekind, was born on February 15, 1936 in Reedsburg, Wisconsin. Victor married Ellen Remhof on August 6, 1955 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Baraboo. Vic loved fishing, beating everyone at cards, telling stories and reminiscing. He looked forward to hanging out at Arvin's, and visiting with family especially when they brought him treats. Vic also enjoyed sitting on his porch swing and watching the birds and squirrels.Survivors include his children, Tony (Mari) Wedekind of Baraboo, Theresa Wedekind of Sun Prairie, Vicki (Lee) Laurent of Redgranite, Tammy Smith of Baraboo, Sue (Jim) Crawford of Georgetown, Kentucky, William Wedekind of Sun Prairie, and Jonna (Troy) Bennett of Madison; 8 grandchildren, Becki (Mike) Hoppe, Danelle (Cory) Miller, Amanda Cone, Nicola (Justin) Beard, Don (fiancee Melissa) Cone, Jerid Hulberg, Jeremy Myers, and Mikayla Bennett; 16 great-grandchildren; siblings, Mary (Glen) Schulz, Roland (Sandy) Wedekind, Bob (Pat) Wedekind, Karen Lange, and Joyce (Richard) Mueller; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen; parents; grandchildren, James Wedekind and Angela Bennett.A Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at Redlin Funeral Home with Father Jay Poster officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at Funeral Home.
