Donald E. "Don" Ploenske, age 80 of Baraboo passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016 at St. Clare Hospital with his son and daughter-in-law by his side. Donald, son of Emil and Dorothy (Lehman) Ploenske was born April 18, 1936.In 1974 Don started Town and Country Carpet Cleaning and operated it until his retirement in 2004 but continued to work alongside his son. He was a lifetime member of the Baraboo Elk's Club and a current member of the local VFW. For 19 years Don was involved with the Circus Parade and Circus Train. That along with farming, Don enjoyed most because he shared this with his son.Survivors include his son, Chad (Terri) Ploenske of Lodi; and grandchildren, Mitchel Ploenske currently serving his country in the United States Marine Corps and Mallory Ploenske of Baraboo.He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister.A memorial service will be held at a later date. The Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.The family would like to extend special thank you to nurses Mary, Deanna, Jenn and Katie for taking exceptional care of Don during his final days.
