Kay Pilger


Kay Pilger, age 82 of Baraboo, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2016 at Meadow View Assisted Living with family by her side. Kay, daughter of Kurt and Evelyn (Bump) Schoenoff was born Sept. 1, 1934. She was a graduate of Baraboo High School and further her studies obtaining a Bachelors in Education at UW-Platteville. Kay was united in marriage to Richard D. Pilger on July 29, 1952. Kay started her career as an elementary school teacher but later worked for Badger Army Ammunition Plant for many years. Her hobbies included quilting and gardening. Kay was a devoted and loving mother, sister and caregiver for those in need. Kay had a deep love for friends, family, animals and life. Besides her quick wit and sense of humor Kay had a kind and sweet personality that will be dearly missed.Survivors include her daughter, Eve (fiance, Errol Springer) Pomrening; granddaughter, Sydney Pomrening; brother, Richard (Geri) Schoenoff; her close family friend, George Graham as well as many extended family and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; and her son, Pete.Funeral Services will be held on Friday, Nov. 25, 2016 at 11 a.m. at First Congregational United Church of Christ with Pastor Doug Fauth officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery.
