Charlene Smith Borck


Charlene Smith Borck, 84, of Cape Coral, Florida passed away Friday, September 16, 2016. Charlene was the daughter of Charles and Feryl Smith of Baraboo, WI. She was born July 26, 1932 in Baraboo. She was united in marriage to Keith R. Borck on November 9, 1950 at North Freedom Baptist Church. Charlene attended school in Baraboo and graduated from Baraboo High School in 1950. After graduation Charlene spent the next 23 years as a U.S. Army officer's wife. Charlene and her husband lived in Key West, Florida after the Army, for 30 years. While in Key West they opened a seafood market supplying fresh catch for the local restaurants as well as the general public. Charlene earned quite a reputation as a chef contributing to cookbooks and providing wonderful meals for her family and friends. She spent the next 14 years in Sebring, Florida until Keith's death in 2014. Charlene and her husband were married 64 years. Charlene has lived in Cape Coral, Florida for the last 2 years; She is survived by her daughter Debbie Evans (Randy), Grandchildren Brent Evans of Fort Myers, Fl and Shelley Evans of Salem, Mass; sister Sandy Lewis and brother Dan Smith. Charlene was preceded in death by her husband Keith R. Borck; her parents and son David R. Borck.Services will be held at the Redlin Funeral home in Baraboo, WI on Saturday, November 12, 2016. The Family wishes to receive visitors and those who knew Charlene from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Memorial service to begin at 11:00 AM. Burial Service will be held at the North Freedom Cemetery immediately after the memorial service.In lieu of flower donations may be made to Hope Hospice of Cape Coral, Fl in Charlene's name.
