John D. Imray
John D. Imray passed away on October 27, 2016 in the home he designed and built in Baraboo, Wisconsin. He was born on June 14, 1937 (Flag Day) to Donald and Thelma Imray.John grew up in Portage, WI and after High School attended UW-Stout and received a degree in Industrial Arts. He started as a young teacher at the Baraboo High School teaching Industrial Arts and Driver's Education. Several years later he moved to the Jr. High School and was one of the first teachers to transition from Industrial Arts to Industrial Engineering. John won numerous awards for his dedication and love of learning. Among them, Teacher of the Year Award for technology and The John Hopkins University First National Search Award for enhancing the quality of life for handicapped people through the application of personal computing. He also enjoyed chess, tennis, Ski Patrol at Devil's Head, and coffee with his friends.John married Penny Watson and spent many wonderful years together.John is survived by his wife, Penny Watson Imray; his son Bill (Mary) Imray; his daughter Heather (Dan) Jahnke; grandson Dustin (Brit) Imray; two beautiful great grandchildren; brother-in-law Bill Euster, Tom (Sandy) Watson and sister-in-law Scharron Watson Lake.He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Sally Imray Euster.Friends and family will remember John's kind heart and gentle spirit.The Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
