Ismay B . Keepers, 97, of Baraboo, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at SSM Health St. Clare Hospital.Ismay was the daughter of William and Mary Belle Clingman, born on January 16, 1919 in LaCrosse, WI. Before marriage Ismay worked as a paralegal in Baraboo. She was united in marriage to Glen Berlin Keepers of Baraboo in May of 1938. They farmed in Fairfield Township for many years. They retired to Arkansas in 1973 but returned to Baraboo in the 1990s.Ismay enjoyed playing the organ both at her church in Yellville, AR and at the New Life Community Church in Baraboo. She made a multitude of greeting cards for friends, family and church members. She was also a fine quilter.Ismay was a member of the New Life Community Church of Baraboo for her entire married life.Survivors include children Wanda Nims (Jerry), grandchildren Cheryl Nims, Camille Lamoureux (Jim), Heidi Cusick (Phil), Joshua Nims; Roxanne Defenbaugh, grandchildren Valerie Andruniak (Matt), Erik Defenbaugh (Lisa); Catherine Holzman (Daniel), Pamela Mjelde (Roy), grandchildren Kirsten Djonne (Kenneth), Kyle Mjelde (Mary), Kody Mjelde; and Daniel Keepers (Fiancee Carol Silvernail); Anthony Keepers, grandchild; seven great-grandchildren; siblings W. Dean Clingman, Harvey Clingman (Donna Kay), Gene Clingman (Sue); sister-in-law Virginia Clingman; many nieces and nephews. Ismay was preceded in death by her parents, husband Glen, daughter Ann as well as brother Edwin.A celebration of life will be held at New Life Community Church in Baraboo on November 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jesse Stevens officiating. The Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
