Lottie C. Rambo


Lottie C. Rambo, age 95 of Baraboo died on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Oak Park Place with her family by her side. Lottie, daughter of George and Ruby (Kimmel) Hansen was born Feb. 1, 1921 in Iowa. She was united in marriage to George L. Rambo in 1943.Lottie had various careers throughout her life including working as a substitute teacher, Grady's Sewing in numerous positions, and also worked as a wedding cake decorator. After Lottie and George opened their own medical supply business in Baraboo she worked as his accountant. Her hobbies included knitting, sewing, and crafting; and at the age of 75 she found interest in painting. She was active at the First United Methodist Church and sang in their choir; she was a volunteer for American Foreign Exchange Students and even hosted a foreign exchange student in the past.She is survived by her children, Jerry Rambo, Jeff Rambo, Betty (Doug) Skapyak, Barbara (Glenn) Rambo-Hartley; foreign exchange daughter, Margareta (Johan) Schmidt; grandchildren, Nicholas Rambo, Christina (Renier) Hillebrink, Michael (Katie) Skapyak, Mariah (Matt) Solchenburger and Grant (Amanda) Hartley; five great-grandchildren; as well as her brother, Leon (Betty) Hansen.Lottie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George and her brother and sister.Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 24, 2016 at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Marianne Cotter officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Monday. Inurnment will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Baraboo Public Library or First United Methodist Church. The Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
