Jacqueline Joan "Jackie" Jones, age 81 of Portage died on Friday, Sept. 16, 2016 at her residence in Portage. Jacqueline, daughter of Harold and Eva (Powell) Johnson was born Feb. 16, 1935 in Baraboo. She graduated from Baraboo High School and then furthered her studies with a year at Sauk County Normal School. On Dec. 27, 1958 she was united in marriage to Richard Lyle Jones in Dubuque, Iowa; he preceded her in death on Sept. 29, 2007. Jackie worked as a finisher at Industrial Coils for over 35 years and was also a substitute teacher for one year. When she resided in Baraboo she was a member of the First United Methodist Church. In her free time she enjoyed bingo, fishing and doing crossword puzzles.Survivors include her children, Sue Jones, Cathy Jones and William Jones; three step-grandchildren, Allen, Aaron and Alisa Tompkins; her brother Robert (Ginny) Johnson as well as other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; son, Michael; sister, Shirley Perkins; step-daughter, Chris Tompkins; sisters-in-law, Aletha Higgins and Doris Roeder.Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016 at Redlin Funeral Home with Pastor Cheryl Thomson officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to be used for Miracle Megan.
