James L. "Jim" Erickson


James L. "Jim" Erickson, age 65 of North Freedom, died on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016 at home with his family by his side. Jim, son of Helmer and Lorraine (Buysse) Erickson was born Aug. 3, 1951 in Minnesota. He was a graduate of Baraboo High School. On Feb. 14, 1981 he was united in marriage to Marcia "Lynn" Williams. Jim worked for Walnut Hill Cemetery as a caretaker for 10 years. He then was employed by Olin Corp and Badger Technical Services at Badger Army Ammunition Plant as a general foreman until his retirement. Jim served as a Trustee on the North Freedom Village Board for 30 years and was on the North Freedom Fire Dept. for 39 years. In his free time Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and spending time with friends. Jim will be remembered as a friend to everyone. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother that will be dearly missed.Survivors include his wife, Marcia "Lynn"; son, Brad Corrao; granddaughter, Amanda Corrao; mother, Lorraine Erickson; sisters, Mary (Alex) Cruz, Debra (Jim Kippley) Erickson as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.He was preceded in death by his father, Helmer Erickson; and brothers, Roger and Gary.Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Redlin Funeral Home in Baraboo with Pastor Derick Bacon officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow the service at Oak Hill Cemetery in North Freedom.
