John Terpstra, age 85 of Baraboo went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. John served his country in the US Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. He was a loving father that enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, cribbage and spending time with his family.He is survived by his sons, John, David and Daniel (Janice) Terpstra all of Baraboo; 13 grandchildren, Chris (Taylor) Kratky, David Terpstra, Kert Terpstra, Stefani Terpstra, Brittany Terpstra, Steven Terpstra, Amie Terpstra, Aiden Liegel, Kassidy Terpstra, Samuel Terpstra, Clay Nemitz-Stautz, Tyler James Nemitz-King and Elizabeth Nemitz; 7 great-grandchildren, Bentley, Vasher, Joseph, Jayden, Brooklyn, Jetit, and Donny; Rosa (Davis) Terpstra; as well as other relatives and friends.John was preceded in death by his parents; the mother of his children, Christine R. (Allen) Terpstra and his son, Joseph Terpstra.Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held from 11:30 until the time of services at the church. Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
