Audrey Thomas


Audrey Emma (Bazzill) Thomas, age 89 of Baraboo passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at St. Clare Hospital with her family by her side. Audrey, the daughter of Harry and Emma (Neis) Bazzill was born Jan. 25, 1927 in Baraboo. She was a graduate of Baraboo High School, Class of 1944. On June 15, 1946 she was united in marriage to Rex D. Thomas at Trinity Episcopal Church in Baraboo. She worked for many years as a medical secretary for Dr. C.R. Pearson in Baraboo. Audrey was very active at Trinity Episcopal Church in Baraboo. She was an Oblate for the Sisters of the Holy Nativity in Ripon. In her free time she enjoyed volunteering for hospice, St. Clare Hospital Auxiliary, Meals on Wheels, Circus World Museum and many other organizations. She will be missed by her family and friends.She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Rex of Baraboo; children, Terri (Denise) of Baraboo, Steven of Baraboo, Linda (Jeff) Morton of Lake Delton, Jackie (Wayne) Vander Zanden of Verona; daughter-in-law, Anne Marie Thomas of Wauwautosa; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer Thomas, Tom Morton, Jill (Chris) Frederick, Brian (Julie) Vander Zanden, Ben (Jen) Thomas, Emily Thomas, Chad (Stephanie) Vander Zanden, Paul Thomas, Mitchell Thomas, Suzanna Thomas; seven great-grandchildren, Steven, Brennan, Ian, Abby, Lauryn, Kayla, Rain, Nicole, Hailey; brother, Clinton Bazzill; sister-in-law, Jan Bazzill; brother-in-law, Rod Sprecher as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her son, Michael; grandson, Matthew Martin; parents; brother, Roger Bazzill; sister, Jacqueline Sprecher; half-sisters June Pond and Betty Peterson; sister-in-law, Janet Bazzill; and brother-in-law, Bernard Thomas.A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, Aug. 8, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church with Father Scott Seefeldt officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Inurnment will follow at Trinity Episcopal Memorial Garden.
