Dorothy Steinhoff


Dorothy June Steinhoff formerly of Cuba City, went to find peace with her Lord on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Oak Park Place.Dorothy was born June 15, 1924 to the late Herbert and Velda Splinter. She married Clifford Steinhoff in 1945 and to this union three children were born. Dorothy was a long time employee of the Telegraph Herald and then retired from the Shopping News. After retiring they spent many winters in Florida. Dorothy enjoyed sports, gardening, fishing and doing grafts. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren. She was high spirited and sassy but at the same time had a very kind heart. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Baraboo.Dorothy is survived by three children, Ron (Kathy) Steinhoff of Cincinnati, Ohio, Dennis (Laura) Steinhoff of Rockford, Illinois and Sonia (Dean) Carter of Baraboo, Wisconsin; nine grandchildren, Peter (Mary), Josh (Michell), Liz (John), Sarah, Regina (Bryan), Ryan, Leah, Nick and Terra; five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Junior, Hannah, Grace and Jack; former daughter-in-law, Susan Spahn as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.A Memorial Service will be held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cuba City on Friday, August 12, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. with a luncheon to follow. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Baraboo.A very special Thank You to the staff at Oak Park Place and Dr. Danny Sessler for amazing compassion and care you always gave "the sassy one".The Redlin Funeral Home of Baraboo is assisting the family.
