Emma Tirjer, age 96, of Baraboo, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2016.Emma was born March 23, 1920 in Ostra, Romania, the youngest of ten children of Frank and Eva Tischler.Emma married Frank Tirjer on October 31, 1942. They were married 71 years. Together with their two sons they came from Austria to Chicago, IL in 1950 and then had a daughter. They moved to the suburbs of Broadview and then Hillside before moving to Baraboo in 1994. Emma loved her family, gardening, making flower arrangements, and crafts. She will be missed by her family and many friends.Emma is survived by her son Robert Tirjer (Nancy) of Edgerton, WI, son Herb Tirjer (Laura) of Glendale, AZ, daughter Fran Befera (Greg) of Baraboo; grandchildren Vanessa (Rick), Rebecca (Adam), Bobby (Linda), Danielle, Jennifer, Missy, Shannon, Natalie (Chris), Joe (Melissa), Michael, Chris, Lindsay (Bobby); 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, six sisters and three brothers.A celebration mass of Emma's life will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Baraboo on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of mass. Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
