John H. Litscher


John Henry Litscher, 88, of Baraboo passed away on Monday, April 18, 2016 at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo. He was born on March 31, 1928 to John and Mae (Tooley) Litscher in Baraboo. John was united in marriage to Joyce Sinner on March 5, 1949 at the First United Methodist Church in Baraboo. John was a dairy farmer for 43 years. He was very active in the community have served on the Sauk County Fair Board where he was president for 35 years, Fairfield Town Board as a Supervisor for 25 years, Public Relations, grounds and maintenance for 25 years. He was also a member of the Elk's for 47 years where he served as the Chairman of the Bowling Committee and the Children's Christmas Party for many years, Owl's Club for 45 years, he was Director for 4 years of the Wisconsin Dairies Board, Wisconsin Association of Fairs for 6 years, and served on the State Fair Board for several years. He was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Baraboo. John enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He also like to go bowling, play cards, and Yahtzee. John is survived by his wife of 67 years, Joyce; children, Johnny Litscher of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Jerry (Patricia Cummings) Litscher, Joe (Karen) Litscher, Jim (Eva Wink) all of Baraboo; grandchildren, Jeremy Litscher, Justin (Tara) Litscher, Julie (Sean) Goodman, Jeanette (Paul) Rock, Erin (Pat) Cassidity, Dan (Ashley) Litscher, Jackie, and Jenna Litscher; great-grandchildren, Madison and Charlison Litscher, Ethan and Mya Goodman, Althea Rock, Kaylee, Ryan and Quinn Cassidity, and Ali, Adi, and Stella Litscher. He is further survived by his sister, Elaine Pierce; sisters-in-law, Joan Litscher, Marge Litscher and Mary Sinner; and brother-in-law, Gene (Audrey) Sinner; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Pete and Bob Litscher; sisters, Lorene (Royce) Harrison, Evelyn (Orlin) Trager; and brother-in-law, Jim Pierce. Funeral Services will be held at 11AM on Monday, April 25, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Baraboo with Pastor Marianne Cotter officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Redlin Funeral Home in Baraboo from 3-5PM; continued visitation will take place Monday at the church from 10AM until the time of service. Burial will follow service at Walnut Hill Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the doctors and nursing staff of the St. Clare Hospital and St. Clare Meadows Care Center for their loving, compassionate care.
