Richard “Dick” Scully


Richard "Dick" Scully, age 74 of Rock Springs left without Heather's permission on Friday, Feb. 5, 2016. Richard, son of Daniel and Margaret (Walsh) Scully was born Sept. 5, 1941 in Seven Mile Creek Township. He graduated from Madonna High School in Mauston in 1959. Dick was drafted into the United States Army and proudly served for two years before being honorably discharged. On April 26, 1980 he was united in marriage to Heather E. Smith at the West Baraboo Church of God. Dick was employed by American Motors, Hartje Lumber and Fedderly Chrysler Dodge Jeep throughout his working years. He was an active member of the Baraboo American Legion Post 26 and Baraboo Veterans Honor Guard. Dick enjoyed singing in the Valley Tones Quartet, playing guitar and most recently he shared his love of music by playing in local nursing homes.Survivors include his wife, Heather; children, Rick, Brendan, and Lincoln Scully; grandchildren, Ashley, Katelyn and Fiona Scully; great-granddaughter, Avery; siblings, Mary (Dale) Schoff, Bob (Bonnie) Scully, Rita Peters, Bill Scully and Ron Scully; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Don; infant sister, Roseanne; grandson, Danny Scully; and nephew, Bobby Peters.Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016 at 11 a.m. at West Baraboo Church of God with Pastor Derick Bacon officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 12, 2016 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Redlin Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Saturday. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery where Military Rites will be conducted by Baraboo Veterans Honor Guard.
