David "Dave" Tyler Schubring, age 62 of Baraboo passed away on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016 at home. David, son of Harold and Eleanor (Koerth) Schubring was born on Feb. 22, 1953 in Baraboo. He was a graduate of Baraboo High School, Class of 1971. On Aug. 21, 1982 he was united in marriage to Karen Vlasak. He was employed as a Correctional Officer by the State of Wisconsin for over 30 years until his retirement. After retirement he drove taxi as well as school bus for Head Start. Dave was active in the Masonic Lodge, achieving the rank of Master Mason. In his free time he enjoyed collecting hot wheels, woodworking, hunting, fishing, traveling and spending time with his family.Survivors include his wife, Karen; children, Shannon (Darren) Scherbert, David (Tara) Schubring; grandchildren, Tyla, Trever, Trenten, Tracen and Terrick; a brother; as well as other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother.There will be a private family service held at Redlin Funeral Home with Pastor Karen Hofstad officiating. Inurnment will be held at Walnut Hill Cemetery. A time of celebration will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. to gather and share memories.The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Carlson, Baraboo EMT's, Baraboo Police Dept., Pastor Karen Hofstad, Penny Snyder, and Becky Brenson for their support.
