Robert R. Boyd


Robert "Bob" R. Boyd, Jr., 73, of Baraboo passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the St. Clare Hospice House in Baraboo. He was born the son of Robert R. and Bernadette (Schommer) Boyd on June 27, 1942 in Milwaukee. Bob was a 1960 graduate of the Markeson High School, and later joined the Army; he was honorably discharged in Anchorage, Alaska where he resided for 2 years. He was united in marriage to Donna Sheppard in 1966 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Baraboo, together they had three children but later divorced. Bob enjoyed farming, hunting and fishing. He worked at several different jobs and the one he enjoyed the most was being a school crossing guard in Baraboo. He was a longtime member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, but had recently been going to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He is survived by his children, Kelly (Carrie) Boyd, Todd (Rebekah) Boyd both of Chickasha, Ok and Teresa (Stephen) McIntyre of Adelanto, CA; ten grandchildren, Joshua Boyd, Katie (Josh) Smith, Curtis (Tiffany) Boyd, Shelby, Gage and Grace Boyd, David, Daniel, Bethany, and Matthew McIntyre; as well as great-grandchildren, Logan and Raylen Boyd, Dakota Smith, and Aiden, Jackson, and Addison Boyd; siblings, Richard (Louise) Boyd, Ronald Boyd, Randall (Roxanne) Boyd, and Pamela (Terry) Putman; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held on Friday, Jan. 22, 2016 at 6 p.m. at the Redlin Funeral Home in Baraboo with Bishop Eric Justice officiating. Following service a short military honors will be performed, and a time of gathering will be held until 7:30pm, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mary and the other caregivers at the St. Clare Hospice House for their compassionate care.
