Jean Erma Zimmerman


Jean Erma Zimmerman, age 87, of Baraboo passed away on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, at St. Clare Hospice House. Jean, daughter of Erich and Erna (Mueller) Albrecht was born on Sept. 1, 1928. She was united in marriage to William "Bill" C. Zimmerman on Sept. 15, 1945, in Baraboo; he preceded her in death on Feb. 29, 2008. She was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Baraboo, St. John's Ladies Aid as well as a 4-H Leader for many years. Jean also enjoyed visiting shut-ins in her free time. During her working career, Jean worked at Thompson's Jewelry as a sales person, sold Avon and was a representative for Beeline Fashions. She was an avid gardener and took great pleasure in cultivating all sorts of flowers with a particular affection for roses. She delighted in watching the birds at the numerous feeders on her deck.Survivors include her children, Nancy (Duane) Kowalke, Melody (John) Truby, Ronald (Peggy) Zimmerman, LaNelle (Greg) Froehlich, Todd (Mary) Zimmerman; grandchildren, Traci, Shawn, Jason, Sara, Tola, Kirsten, Erica, Terina, Tyrel, Kristen; great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Kellen, Mason, Jenni, Heidi, Daniel, Evan, Adria, Lilly; great-great-grandson, Seeley; brother, George Albrecht; as well as her beloved cats, Callie and Feisty and other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; sisters, Dorothy Kopecky and Violet Lawrence; as well as her brother, Everett Albrecht.Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015, at St. John's Lutheran Church at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Carl Schroeder officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. A private family inurnment will be held at Sumpter Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church. The family would like to extend a special thank you to St. Clare Hospice House and Home Health United staff for the wonderful care they gave Jean. Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
