Violet E. Lawrence


Violet Elsie Lawrence, age 93, of Baraboo passed away with her family by her side on Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo. She was born the second daughter of Erich and Erna (Mueller) Albrecht on May 6, 1922, in Baraboo. Violet was united in marriage to Kenneth R. Lawrence on June 7, 1947, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Baraboo. He preceded her in death on January 11, 1995.Violet was a long-time member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Baraboo where she was active in Ladies Aid. She was also active in Lower Narrows Homemakers and Round Robin Relatives. She worked on their family farm alongside her husband, helping to take care of the animals and garden as they raised their family. She also worked hard at preserving the farm's bounties to provide for her family throughout the year. Violet liked to cook and bake and was known for her oatmeal cookies. Her family was always the most important part of her life.Violet is survived by two daughters, Janice M. (Gerald) Zimmerman and Kim L. (Phillip "Fly") Hutterli; and one grandchild, Heather N. Hoffman. She is further survived by sister, Jean Zimmerman, brother, George Albrecht; as well as many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth; daughter, Donna Fae; sister, Dorothy Kopecky; brother, Everett Albrecht; and her godchild, George Gary Kopecky.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 30, 2015, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Baraboo with Pastor Carl Schroeder officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow the service at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Baraboo.
