Samuel T. Burns


Samuel T. Burns, age 83 of Lyndon Station passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015 at the VA Hospital in Madison. Samuel, son of Thomas and Blanche (Wanke) Burns was born April 5, 1932 in Wausau. On Dec. 8, 1962 he was united in marriage to Shirley Higgins in Frezno, California. Sam was employed as a meat cutter for most of his life. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and watching the Packers and the Black Hawks.He is survived by his wife, Shirley of Lyndon Station; children, Jerry (Linda) Burns of Wisconsin Dells, Mark Burns of Fox Lake, Tim Burns of Baraboo, Thomas (Staci) Burns of Cambridge; 7 grandchildren; siblings, Kenneth Burns of Wausau and Ellen Hintz of Princeton, Minnesota as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Ruth.Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Redlin Funeral Home with Pastor Lisa Taylor officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Military Rites will be conducted by the Baraboo Veterans Honor Guard.
