Gilman Eugene Lincoln


Gilman Eugene Lincoln Jr. "Manape" (Warrior), age 66, of Baraboo, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2015, at Maplewood Nursing Home, in Sauk City, Wisconsin. He was born on December 1, 1948, to Gilman E. Lincoln Sr. and Virginia (Goodbear) Lincoln. Gilman graduated from Tomah high school and enlisted in the United States Navy and served during the Vietnam War. He worked for the Wisconsin State Patrol as a Trooper until his retirement in 2000. After his retirement Gil received an honorary degree in Criminal Justice. In his spare time Gil enjoyed shooting pool, golfing, fishing, bowling, cooking, playing cards, riding his motorcycles, taking rides, telling stories, making people laugh and pretty women.Gil is survived by his two daughters, April (Josef Schilling) and Carly (Judd Sweitzer) Lincoln; seven brothers and sisters, Mert (Cheryl) Lincoln, Lois (Brad) Behrens, James Sr. (Rhonda) Lincoln, Lori (Les) Schmolke, Levi Lincoln Sr., Lana Lincoln (John Papenfuhs), Lily Lincoln (Nelly Izaguirre); 5 grandchildren, Alison (Vaughn) Lincoln, Andrew Lincoln, Maya and Seth Schilling and Logan Beal and great-grandchild, Cassie Garner as well as many nieces, nephews, other grandchildren, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015 at 12, NOON at Redlin Funeral Home with Marlene Helgemo officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Military Rites will be conducted by the Sanford White Eagle American Legion Post #556.
