Ronald E. Pierce

Ronald Edward Pierce, age 77, of LaValle formerly of Baraboo passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at UW Hospital in Madison. Ronald was born on April 12, 1938 to Edward and Marie (Dischler) Pierce in Baraboo. He lived in West Baraboo for nearly 40 years, and during this time he was united in marriage to Nancy Mudrak on October 17, 1970 at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Baraboo. Shortly after their two daughters, Michelle and Dawn, were born, Ronald moved his family to Baraboo, up near Baraboo Junior High School on the hill. Ronald enjoyed playing tennis and could be found most nights after work down at Mary Roundtree Park hitting the ball around with his daughters. He worked for several years as a loan officer at Baraboo Federal Savings and Loan Association before retiring around his 55th birthday. After retiring and having both of their daughters off on their own, Ronald and Nancy sold their Baraboo home in the mid 1990's, and for the first time in his life, Ronald was not a resident of Baraboo. Ronald and Nancy moved up to Lake Redstone to the beautiful house they had bought in June of 1976. One of Ronald's favorite pastimes was driving around the lake in his pontoon boat. The winter months were always cold in Wisconsin, and in the late 1990's Nancy convinced Ronald to buy a vacation home in Las Vegas, NV so that they could spend the winter months in a warmer climate. Unfortunately, Nancy passed away in 1999, so they didn't have much time to enjoy their Las Vegas getaway home together. Ronald kept his house in Las Vegas and continued to migrate between living at Lake Redstone in the summer months and living in Las Vegas in the winter months until his passing.Ronald is survived by his daughter, Michelle (Peter) Ruprecht, and his two grandchildren Collin and Anna Ruprecht; as well as many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nancy; and daughter, Dawn Pierce.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Jay Poster officiating. Visitation will be held from 9AM until the time of service at the church. Burial will immediately after the service at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Baraboo. The Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
