Amanda R. McGann

Amanda Rae McGann, age 20, of Merrimac passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 3, 2015. She was born on November 12, 1994 to Michael and Caroline (Wagner) McGann in Baraboo.Amanda had such a caring nature that was honest and genuine. She was a special person who seemed to leave a spark with anyone she met. Amanda was a devoted friend who could be counted on in times of distress and would look out for those who seemed weak or in need. Her qualities would have made a wonderful caring nurse, which was the career she was about to pursue.Amanda loved all types of animals, especially her rabbit, George and her cat, Murphy. She had an obvious talent for all types of art that she acquired from her grandfather and mother. Amanda's interests in art included drawing, painting, mixed media and visiting art exhibits. She also enjoyed listening to a variety of music that spoke to her soul and fed her spirit.Amanda is survived by her parents; a brother, Lucas; paternal grandmother, Nancy McGann; maternal grandparents, Bob and Sandy Wagner; and great-grandmother, Ruth McGann, who joined Amanda in heaven one day later. She is further survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Robert McGann; great-grandfather, Jack McGann.A Public Visitation will be held on Friday, September 11, 2015 at the Redlin Funeral Home from 4:00-7:00PM. A Private Family Service will be held on Saturday. Amanda will be laid to rest at the Walnut Hill Cemetery. A charitable donation will be made in Amanda's name.
