Harold “Butch” Rau
Harold "Butch" Rau, age 74 of Baraboo passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2015 at his home. Harold, son of John and Marguerite (Marquardt) Rau was born April 4, 1941 in Baraboo. He was united in marriage to Judy Adams at St. John's Lutheran Church in Baraboo, where he was also baptized. Butch proudly served four years in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a lifelong member of the Baraboo Elks Club, and an avid hunter and fisher in his younger years. After his retirement he enjoyed reading and gardening in his free time. He loved spending time with his family.Survivors include his wife, Judy of Baraboo; children, Andy (Rhonda) Rau and Jami (Adam) Porter; grandchildren, Miranda and Brandon Rau; siblings, Dorothy Pfhistner, Donald (Martha) Rau and Katherine Jackson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Bud Rau, Jack Rau and Marilyn Cady.Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 24, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Walnut Hill Bible Church with Pastor Dave Hutchens officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Inurnment will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery with Military Rites provided by Baraboo Veterans Honor Guard. The Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
