Reuben Beiswanger


Reuben Beiswanger died on Tuesday, August 11, 2015. He was born at home on a farm in Sheridan Township near Ridgeland on October 11, 1925; the son of Emil and Ida (Klozinski) Beiswanger. He graduated from Prairie Farm High School in 1943. He was a veteran of World War II, serving as Staff Sargeant with the 7th Calvary in the occupation of Japan from 1945-1947. He worked in Flint, Michigan for four years at Chevrolet and five years in private business in Ridgeland, Rice Lake, and Ladysmith. He married Betty Jane Nordhagen on June 22, 1957of rural Hillsdale. He was employed by the Cenex organization working in various positions at the local co-ops in Ridgeland, Lancaster, and Baraboo. The later years he was a marketing rep in southern Wisconsin for the corporate office in south St. Paul, MN. Reuben was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Baraboo; and a member of American Legion Post 26. He is survived by his daughters, Michelle Lapp of Sauk City and Mary (Mark) Carignan of Baraboo; four grandchildren, Kyle, Casey, Ryan, and Jessie; three sisters, Doris Stodgel of Bloomfield, MI, Bernice Geisler of New Richmond, and Grace Jorstad of Ridgeland. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty; her parents; sister-in-law, Carol Lavalier; brothers-in-law, Winifred Francisco, Joseph Strodgel, Herbert Geisler, and Douglas Jorstad. In keeping with his wishes there will be a private family memorial service at the Redlin Funeral Home. His cremains will be buried in the cemetery of New Scandinavia Lutheran Church in rural Dallas, along side of his wife. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
