Virginia A. Miller


Virginia "Giny" A. Miller, age 92, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at the St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo. She was born on August 31, 1922 to Carl and Hazel (Springer) Neitzel. Giny was united in marriage to Donald Miller on March 8, 1944; he preceded her in death on April 14, 1971. Giny spent her working years at the Badger Army Ammunition Plant, then cooking in the Baraboo High School lunchroom, and baking at Darrow's grocery; where she was affectionately known to her co-workers as "Ma". She made many close friendships during those years. She loved cardinals and had over 200 displayed throughout her apartment in the form of ceramics, pillows, throws, glassware, dishware, placemats, pictures, etc, and family members were always looking to try to buy her something she didn't already have. She also loved begonia plants and had many hanging outside the doorway to her apartment. Giny is survived by her brother, Kenneth Neitzel of Edina, MN; and sister Maxine Schell of Peru, IL. She is also survived by many special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don; sisters, Dorothy Mantanye an Helen Jenewein; brother, Donald Neitzel; brother-in-law, Robert Schell; and sister-in-law, Helen Neitzel.Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at the Redlin Funeral Home, 401 Madison Ave. Baraboo. Visitation will be from 10am until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow services at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to St. Clare Memorial Garden in Virginia's name.The family wishes to thank the caring staff at the St. Clare hospital for their kindness and compassion.
