Gloria J. Hein

Gloria Jean Hein "Glo", age 67, born March 15, 1948, of Baraboo, went to be with her Heavenly father on May 5, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. Everyone that knew Gloria, had a true friend; she will be remembered by her contagious smile, enthusiastic greetings, generosity and always looking for the positive in everyone. Forty eight years ago on May 11, 1968 Gloria married her best friend and love of her life Gene Francis Hein at the United Methodist Church, Merrimac, in which they still attend. In 1969, Gene and Gloria's first daughter was born followed by a second daughter two years later; from then on it was "family" that was their priority in life. Some may recognize Gloria from when she worked for the Baraboo News right out of high school or the bakery (downtown Baraboo) for 11 years. Others may know her from Flambeau Plastics, church, or possibly the Baraboo School district, kitchen; none the less, even if you didn't know Gloria by her name you would know and remember her by her kind soul. Gloria's hobbies were gardening, studying the bible, going out to eat with friends and creating her own recipes (which could never be duplicated because she never wrote them down). She also liked to play cards, penny slots and loved playing board games with her grandkids. Gloria is survived by her husband, Gene Francis Hein; her dog Ellie Mae; two daughters, Peggy Sue Hein-Luther (Clint), Becky Jean Hein-Tollaksen; two grandchildren, Kayla Sue Tollaksen, Kapriece Londin Tollaksen; two step grandchildren, Jolene Luther, Ronny Bernander; one brother, Kenneth Bonnell (Peggy); her mother-in-law, Ruth Hillebold; three sisters-in-law, Donna (Hein) Olsen (Timothy), Elsa Hein and Joyce Sippialis and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Gloria was preceded in death by her parents Ivor Bonnell and Eleanor (Hall) Bonnell; her fathers-in-law, Donald Hein, Matthew Hillebold and her brother-in-law, James Hein.A church service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at10:00 A.M. at the United Methodist Church, Merrimac with Pastor Roxi Gnatzig and Pastor Anita Genrich co-officiating. A celebration of life will follow at the same location. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to be used toward Endometrial Cancer Funds. The Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family."I am glad for the time spent with family and friends; I love you; celebrate our life together. I am ready to see Jesus. The Lord is my Shepard and he is bringing me home. Look for a rainbow, the sunshine, the moon, a butterfly or a breeze. I will be with you! So is God; have peace."
