Richard "Dick" Dean Lusby passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2015 in Baraboo at the age of 90. Richard, son of Rollo and Hilda (Blakeslee) Lusby was born Sept. 19, 1924 in Baraboo. He attended Reedsburg High School. Dick enlisted in the US Navy on Nov. 2, 1942 and was honorably discharged on Feb. 3, 1946. During his time in the military he was stationed in the Pacific Theater. On Dec. 20, 1946 he was united in marriage to Mary Radel in Baraboo. He loved music and playing guitar; he even taught lessons for over 30 years. Dick enjoyed working out at the Baraboo Civic Center.Survivors include his wife, Mary; sisters, Kay Himden, Sheila Lusby and Sharon Lusby; nieces; nephew; cousins; other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gerald and Milton Lusby.Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Lodi. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #216. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. The Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
