Earl G. Zirzow, age 94, of Baraboo passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at St. Clare Meadows Care Center. He was born on January 4, 1920 in Milwaukee. He was united in marriage to Doris Kollath in 1941 in Watertown. Earl proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946. In 1950 he and Doris moved to Baraboo. Earl worked 22 years at the Gisholt Machine Company in Madison. He then worked for Berning Motors until his retirement in 1982. He loved camping, fishing, but most importantly his family. Earl is survived by four sons, Walter (Mary) Zirzow, Roger (Bonnie) Zirzow, Richard (Karen) Zirzow all of Baraboo, David (Deb) Zirzow of Illinois; daughter-in-law, Pat Zirzow; 9 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris in 1991; son, Carl in 2013; and granddaughter, Tracy in 1974.A Private Family Memorial Service will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the nursing staff at Greenbriar and St. Clare Meadows, as well as Dr. Hamburg for their excellent care and loving compassion.
