Lloyd L. DuBois
Lloyd L. DuBois, 93, passed away on January 24, 2014 at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo.Lloyd was born on April 22, 1920 to Deane DuBois and Irene (Baumgarten) DuBois in the Town of Winfield in Sauk Co., Wisconsin. He graduated from Baraboo High School in 1940 and studied engineering at the UW Platteville for two years before entering the US Army in 1942. Lloyd was a Sergeant in the 13th Armored Tank Division and served until 1945.Lloyd married Eleanor Starr on June 4, 1949. After his service in the Army, he became a partner in W.R. DuBois and Sons Road Construction, where he spent his career working in the family business with his two brothers until his retirement in 1981. Lloyd was an avid fisherman and hunter throughout his life. He and Eleanor enjoyed their time fishing and the company of family and friends at their vacation homes in Northern Minnesota and Palmetto, Florida. Lloyd was involved in many community organizations such as the Elks Club, Shriners, Masonic Lodge, Moose Club and American Legion.Lloyd is survived by two brothers, Alwyn DuBois and Deane (Bun) DuBois, Jr. (Colleen), both of Baraboo; a nephew, Jeffrey Judson (Lorie) of Pasadena, CA; two nieces, Marcia DuBois of Emeryville, CA, and Kristi DuBois Stone (Tim Stone) of Baraboo; two grand-nieces, Hilary Stone of Eau Claire, WI, and Emily Judson Shanas (Gary) of Pasadena, CA; a grand-nephew, Nicholas Judson (Lisa), also of Pasadena, CA.; and many beloved friends and neighbors, including Al and Judy Follendorf of Baraboo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor DuBois in 2003; his sister, Rose (DuBois) Judson in 2002; his niece Katherine (Judson) Temple in 2008; and his sister-in-law, Lola (Von Eitzen) DuBois in 2012.Lloyd was a good-natured, kind and generous person who inspired all of us to be our best selves. He was loved dearly and will be sorely missed.The family would like to thank the staffs of Jefferson Meadows and St. Clare Hospital and Dr. Randy Krszjzaniek for their attentive care.A memorial service will be held for Lloyd DuBois at 11am Thursday, July 24 at Trinity Episcopal church, 111 6th St., Baraboo. A light lunch will follow at church and a graveside service at Walnut Hill Cemetery with Rev. Scott A. Seefeldt officiating. Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family. Memorials in Lloyd's honor may be made to the Sauk County Humane Society.
