Robert "Bob" A. Snyder, 68, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. Robert, son of Clyman and Muriel (Welch) Snyder, was born on July 23, 1945. Bob was married to the love of his life and soul mate Penny White on October 13, 1973.Bob worked in the real estate business for many years. He was an avid auction attendee who always tried to break even on his purchases! He was very active in the Salvation Army Sauk Co. Disaster Unit. Bob was a member of the Baraboo Masonic Lodge #34. He was worshipful Master in 1984 and just received his 35 year membership this year.Bob and Penny were foster parents for years and helped shape the lives of many children. Kim (Brian) Gates continues to be a special part of the family.He is survived by his mother, Muriel; beloved wife, Penny; daughter, Lynn (John) Fliess; his wonderful sister Kathy (Mel) Fortune; brother-in-law, Ken (Donna) White; sister-in-law, Mary White; half brother J. (Andrea) Johnson with whom he met later in life; nephews, Dr. Scott White, Jason (fiance Kris) White, Craig (Jodi) White, Chad (Stephanie) Fortune; grandchildren, Haley, Marie and Johnny; great-nieces and nephews, Jordin, Tysen, Kolten, Jaelyn, Caden, Brenden, Kendryn, Nickolas, Ava and Lief. He is further survived by special friends, God children, and extended family that are just too numerous to name, but are held very near and dear to his heart.Bob was preceded in death by his father, Clyman Snyder; father-in-law, Russell White; mother-in-law, Adeline White; and brother-in-law, Dennis White.Memorial Services will held on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 11a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, in Baraboo, with Pastor Karen Hofstad officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Redlin Funeral Home, with a Masonic service to follow at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be held on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow service at Walnut Hill Cemetery.It was extremely important to Bob to be a tissue donor. His gift will make a difference to many lives.
