Jason A. "Higgy" "Bear" Higgins, age 38, of Baraboo passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at his home. Jason, the son of Ralph Higgins and Alice (Cook) Woodward, was born on August 20, 1975 in Baraboo. Jason graduated from Baraboo High School.Higgy loved fishing, bowling, demo derbys, NASCAR, football, the Badgers and Packers, and thoroughly enjoyed playing cards with friends and making pop can derby cars.Jason is survived by his father, Ralph (Kathy Jellings) Higgins; mother, Alice (Greg)Woodward; sister, Jennifer Higgins; a nephew, Jordan Blue; his maternal grandmother, LaVona Adams; his friend, Logan Huffstutler; other relatives and many friends.He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Aletha and Carl Higgins and his maternal grandfather, Robert H. Cook. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at the Redlin Funeral Home in Baraboo with Pastor Karen Hofstad officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, April 7, 2014, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home, and from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Tuesday. Private family burial services will be held at Walnut Hill Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
